Meet our Labor Candidates for the North Rocks Ward

  • Dr Hayley French - Lead Candidate

    Hayley is an artist, curator, writer and mother. She grew up on Jenkins Road in the North Rocks Ward and stayed local her whole life. Together with her family, Hayley has been heavily involved in local sporting clubs, community and social justice groups. Hayley has completed a PhD on the influence of Aboriginal art on Australian Painting in 2015, has worked as a fieldwork researcher in Cultural Economics at Macquarie University and worked for 6-years with City of Parramatta in the Community and Culture team. Her writing has been published in Sydney Review of Books, ADSR Zine, Art Collector Magazine, Eyeline Contemporary Visual Arts Journal and Semaphore. She exhibits regularly in artist-run, regional and commercial galleries around Australia.

  • Heba Kassoua - Candidate

    Heba holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government & International Relations from the University of Sydney and a Master in Interpreting and Translation from the University of Western Sydney. She is a Certified Interpreter and a Translator. With over 10 years of experience in the government sector, Heba has worked with prominent institutions such as SBS Radio, the NSW Parliament and NSW Police. Currently, she is part of the team at Multicultural NSW, where her expertise in community engagement and language services continues to make a significant impact. Heba has lived with her husband and young son in the City of Parramatta for over 5 years now.

  • Nick Nikolaidis - Candidate

    Nick is a North Rocks local with a passion for our community. He is a lifetime local, attending nearby schools and living in North Rocks since 2017. He has completed a Bachelor of Arts at nearby Macquarie University and has since worked in Government. Nick knows that Parramatta Council has an important role to play in protecting the natural beauty and unique amenity of North Rocks, while also turning Parramatta City into the second CBD it is destined to become. He is a strong advocate of responsible development that considers local infrastructure, services, and investment.
